Good Morning All,
With another beautiful day behind us, we look forward to another one at 6593 feet. The sun is shining down on camp as critters scurry around and our overnight guests gather on their porches gazing at the colors the sunrise provided us with. While currently at 48 degrees, we will be expecting another afternoon in the low to mid 60 degree range. Yesterday, we hit our new high of the year at a whopping 66 degrees. As we look forward through the rest of the week, we should have clear sunny days until Sunday when some scattered showers are expected to last through most of the weekend. As a reminder, just one more day until Roaring Fork Motor Trail opens to the public, allowing a direct access to the Trillium Gap trailhead. Enjoy this gorgeous day, we hope to see you at the top!

We are so excited for our stay on Thursday night. Can you tell me how long it takes to drive from Gatlinburg to the Trilium Gap trailhead and from Gatlinburg to the Rainbow Falls trailhead? We are trying to decide which way to hike up. Thanks!

From Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road/Traffic Light #8 is it is about 10 minutes to the Rainbow Falls/Bullhead trailheads and perhaps 10 more to Trillium Gap trailhead. Those three trailheads are the three closest to Gatlinburg!

I was notified by a shuttle service yesterday that Trillium trail will be closed for rehab Monday through Friday starting May 6th. I had planned on hiking up on May 21st, but told it won't be open.
