The rainfall has finally caught up to us. Last night at diner we received 0.5 inches of heavy rain. This morning we had a brief break and stayed dry but by lunch we were back in the rain and it is still continuing. Winds are picking up and reaching speeds of 45 mph. The forecast is calling for the rain to continue for the rest of the day and into parts of tomorrow. It may be rainy but we are thankful that temperatures are staying high enough that we don't need to worry about ice. It is currently 46 degrees and looks like it will remain in the upper 40s for the rest of the day. Overnight temps are expected to only drop to the low 40s. For anyone planning a trip up rain gear is still advised. The best cure for a rainy day is a visit from our llama friends. They arrived in camp just as the rain let up and were able to enjoy their break in dry conditions. After some well deserved tasty treats the llamas loaded up and headed home for the night. Its always a good day if its a llama day.
