April.3.2016. Busy, bust, or butts....?

4/3/2016

Yesterday was crazy! So many hikers came up yesterday to enjoy the beautiful, but extremely chilly weather. A high of 35 was replaced with a low of 14, the day has decided to stay on the frigid side.

This is the only warm thing up here right now.
It really was amazing to see all the people up here for the first time!

It is great seeing new guests and hikers up here, but please remember to pack out ALL of your trash.

Many of our guests mentioned seeing a lot of trash along the trails and the crew found cigarette butts, wrappers, bottles, and food waste around the lodge.

Keeping the trails neat and natural is everyone's responsibility, don't make a mess for someone else to clean up.

Huge kudos to the sports team who hiked up today and collected as they went! You are much appreciated.

I could be in the minority with my opinion, although I believe otherwise, but people who discard their trash along the trails and especially around the Lodge grounds are at best despicable and should not be allowed in the Park. My view may be extreme and I may be old fashioned but I will stick by this belief. Yes, commendations to those who pick up trash tossed down by idiots.

How is the weather looking up there today? We head up on Tuesday, do you think we are going to need the micro spikes?

This time of year I would always carry them. In the shaded areas ice can linger long after temps rise above freezing. Besides its not that big of a deal to hang them off your pack anyways...better to have and not need than to need and not have...HAPPY TRAILS

Thanks for the info. Still seems like we're missing some faces on the crew/team page. Is Ryn the Asst. Mgr. or is Henry again? Saw a couple hiking the llamas last week but the woman wasn't the one pictured. A new llama wrangler? Thanks.
