Attitude Adjustment

The rains came through during the night leaving us with a cold and invigorating sunrise. Seeing blue sky above will work wonders for the psyche. I guess those of us that live on the mountain lose site of the beauty found in every type of weather. When you have been "blanketed" in clouds for a few days, or weeks, it can change your perspective. Thank you for reminding me to continue to find the beauty no matter what the weather condition. Some times I just need to stop and take a deep breath and remember that even on the cold, rainy, "gloomy" days, there is beauty.

I get a new perspective every day that I read your blog, it reminds me to be grateful of all the amenities I have down here and to appreciate not having them when I go up the mountain!

It's pretty awesome how God wrapped you in his blanket yesterday and today opened his arms to set your sights further into the beauty He provides.

Good Morning, I am sick, had to cancel my trip up to LeConte for tomorrow due to catarat surgery. However, my friends are hiking up. I am wishing them a wonderful trip. I had never gotten a slot in September until this year. Anyway, I am planning and hoping to get a slot next year during this beautiful year. Thanks for the blog and the wonderful pictures. It helps me to see my beloved mountain everyday. Oh, by the way the friends hiking up tomorrow are from Jackson TN. Four lively women!!

Well said above- from Pat N. The picture today brought tears to my eyes. We too had to cancel our October reservations for reasons I don't want to go into. Sometimes life in the real world is just too complicated. It just makes those magical moments captured in this picture even more special & cherished. I sure hope whoever (from the wait list) that now has our spot has good weather and a wonderful experience! Remember there is beauty in everything in the natural world.
