Good Afternoon,
Its been another rainy day up top, nonstop in fact. We are loving it though! The crew even got together for a rainy day picture yesterday. While riding out the rain the past couple of days, we anticipate more tomorrow as well as over the weekend. Yesterday, we received over 2 inches of rain and it’s hasn’t let up yet today. Our high yesterday was a cool 56 degrees and overnight low was 51. Put your rain gear on and make your way Ron the top!!

When do you update the total rain numbers?

Poisionally, I would prefer to get wet in the East over burning up in the West as thus are the current conditions. I have barrelled off of LeConte before on The Rainbow Falls Trail only to slip and slide and cuss and sweat my way back up to the lodge when I was unable to safely cross the rain swollen creek, so let er rain and leave by The Bullhead Trail to walk back up another day, as both trails begin and end in the same parking lot, plus Bullhead is steeper, so if you fall you will slide faster and be out of the woods quicker.

When it rains up top, is it sort of a gullywasher that lasts for an hour or so or an all day kind of rain? Is anyone going to head down Rainbow Falls and take a picture of the impassible pass when the rain is draining down the mountain, or is that being fixed in the RF redux?

We loved our stay, the night of August 1. I will always remember 'white water hiking' to cliff tops to see the clouds over and in the mountains
