Back at it again....

Hello down there LeConte lovers we are finally back online! Things up on the mountain have been fun as always. The crew just recently celebrated Christmas in August a couple of days ago, where we invited the ACE trail crew over for burgers and then had a Secret Santa surprise afterward. Gifts included everything from a crotchet hat and books to even a lava lamp. Of course we had themed Christmas carols playing the whole time as well, and mountain mochas all around. Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Tis the season! Today is Logans last day at the lodge where he will be heading down starting as a chef for a nonprofit in a couple of months. Good luck in all of your adventures buddy, we sure are going to miss you.

The weather up here has been pretty "bluebird" like the last couple of days and we are looking forward to the fall temps and colors. The low last night was 51 and the current temp is 64.7 with a bit of an overcast sky. Bonnie brought the llamas up today. Enjoy your hike up to the summit!

Good afternoon from Ms.You sure are making me homesick with all those wonderful things going up at my favorite place Mt Leconte,I am puzzled with Bonnie and llamas,I looked back at crew before I ask the question again but Bonnie isn't on the crew pictures and list for this season and I was wondering if it was the same Bonnie that worked up there 3or 4 yrs.and married John ????????? Is Alan and Crissy still llama wranglers???????????Thanks

You are correct. That is the same Bonnie that worked here and married John. Alan and Chrissy are still the llama wranglers. Bonnie is the back up wrangler

So, who will admit to having packed a lava lamp all the way up the mountain??? At least we valley dwellers now know the REAL reason for the outage. Somebody must've plugged the lava lamp in place of the laptop, and the heat needed to get the lava flowing short-circuited the entire generator system!
On the flip side, I'm glad y'all had fun with Christmas in August. With the 100 degree heat indices we're having in Mid-TN the last 2 months, a little bit of Christmas weather would be a very nice change of pace.
