The storms passed and the day was marvelous. The high yesterday was 64. The rain helped cool us down to 41 last night. The cool nights are upon us. If you are hiking up to spend the night, don't forget to bring some warm layers. It is chilly at night. It is starting out to be a gorgeous day up top for today.

The photo of the row of cabins is one I especially like because when I arrive at the lodge and check in, this is usually the next view I have, of going to my cabin so I know I've finally arrived ! Now, if I could only teletransport myself there !

I always love seeing pictures of the cabins.We are staying in one next week and it will be our first trip to the top. Has there been much bear activity lately?

Thanks for the wonderful time up at Mt.Leconte September 6th. My husband/mother/uncle and myself all hiked up for the day and to spend the night. we had a beautiful day and sunset. Couldn't have asked for anything better.
Everyone is so nice and friendly.
Jacque.....we hiked up Alum Cave and did not see any bears on the trail and up at the lodge we walked up to the shelter and around the lodge...no signs of bears that day! You and I share the same birthday. I almost planned our trip this year for the 21st too. Have a great time. You'll definately enjoy the experience and want to come back next year like we have!
