Blue Skies Are Playing Peek-A-Boo

4/18/2013

"Back door" to the Lodge.
I saw a little wedge of blue sky while making my rounds this morning. It was quickly hidden by clouds. I now have a positive outlook with the knowledge that the blue sky is oh so close. The wind is whipping through the trees this morning. We had a wet day yesterday. The high was 61º with .13" of rain. The low last night was 47. If the forecast is correct, we should have a nice day up top. Chris and I will be heading down this evening for the rest of our April days off. We are excited to attend an Indian wedding of two wonderful friends. That will make for a new experience to add to my life list. We will be back on Tuesday. I know Nathan will do an excellent job of entertaining you all. He certainly keeps us entertained up top. We do love us some Nathan story times.

Hello! What a great blog you have. I sent an email to you about a summer ( volunteer) job. I will be available for 2 weeks in July. All I ask is room and board and a great looking t-shirt. I worked at GSMIT for 9 months last year. I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains and have a true sense of respect and love for the mountains. Thanks for any information you can send my way.

Nice photo - - sort of reminds me of an entrance to a creepy, dark, damp castle; makes my imagination wonder what lies beyond that wooden post !? Of course, the lodge definitely isn't creepy, dark, nor damp; quite the opposite ! It's a great place for a couple of nights' stay. An Indian wedding, eh !? Sounds most interesting. I was told once that I have Cherokee blood, but I never looked into that and I don't believe it either. I do have a nickname that I wonder what it would be in the old Cherokee language; "Slow Walker" !! I certainly fit that moniker these days ! Looks to be a great day. Maybe a bear will make an appearance soon at the dining hall. G'day

I'm thinking more Bilbo Baggins than creepy. A little lunch, some stories then set off on an adventure.

If I look SW with my binoculars, I think I can see yr roof tops from my place? Sherwood Forest, in Pigeon Forge. I will get up to the lodge this summer!

Where exactly is Sherwood Forest located in PF? I had a great hike to lodge over the weekend. Have you been up there before?

Oh exciting, you will have to go into detail of what food they served. We have a wedding this year too. Our daughter is getting married Aug. 17th. But the only thing she wants is chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. I love all the different things in life. Very dark and dreary rainy day here too. I think were having a monsoon.

Friday now; April 19, 2013......a song comes to me now:
"Where oh where are you today, why have you left us here all alone ? We've searchd the net over looking for Nathan, but a bear has come in and ate him up whole !" JUST KIDDIING NATHAN !!!! I know when you're there in charge you have plenty to do, and you do a good job of it. More raiin here in KY, almost too much of it. Cooler, too, but I like that. Good afternoon.

@doug y: -possibly is your song inspired by a song from the olden tv show "Heehaw" ?!
My grand-daddy used to watch that!;)

Dd\mi. : Yes, of course. I'm probably the same age as your grandfather ! I've never met very many "celebrities", but once in Knoxville I enjoyed the great pleasure of playing 18 holes of golf with Archie Campbell-every time I took a swing, it seemed, he would tell a joke ! I believe I shot about 140 that day !! Enjoyed the dickens out of it though !
