Brrrrr!!

3/5/2012

JP was able to wake up his last day to another inch of snow. It was clear and cold all day yesterday. We never saw temperatures above 14 degrees. The low last night was 13 and it is currently 15.

The clouds are moving in and the winds are blowing hard. This is not a good combination for an airlift. Highway 441 is currently closed due to ice and snow. It is not looking good for flying today. I guess it is time to clean some more.

And after all that cold hard work at the LZ yesterday...no airlift.
Hey JP...It's hard to meet you at the trail head if the road is closed.

Weird weather we have!!! Its 19 in Michigan this morn too. And were finally getting snow in March. Now is the time for it to leave and be nice. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you all.

Ok, I'm getting nervous about the airlift! The weather was suppose to be perfect for it. Try to keep Tim calm! lol

Looking forward to hiking up on the first day you are open for the season on March 19th!! We hiked down the Grand Canyon to Phantom Ranch the first week in January so hopefully we can share our stories when we see you on the 19th!!

Yes Joshua, you will need some sort of ice crampon to make it up Alum. It is super icy on the trails.
