Buttermilk. The man, the myth, the legend

8/5/2016

Greetings valley dwellers! Turnip here with a little back story on our friend, and crew member of the week, Buttermilk! Buttermilk hails from Friendsville, TN and loves pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain. He is a chef by trade, and a loose canon cop on the edge, who doesn't play by the rules. All jokes aside, he is a wonderful person and we are lucky to have him up here. He joined us two months ago and will be here until September 1st. He has big plans for the future! He will be leaving us to pursue his dream of opening a non profit restaurant. We're sad to see him go, but we will always support his dreams. Once crew, always crew. Now, the weather! The skies opened up and the thunder clattered last night. It rained all night, 1.1 inches! The lightening was spectacular! The forecast is calling for more storms, again, this week so gear up before you head up. The current temperature is 61 and the low last night was 53. Happy hiking and much love, Turnip.

I saw that pan on my first trip up the mountain. 1977.

Nice blog! I'm usually slow to catch on, but I recognized the reference to the song right away. And John, how in the heck can you remember a pan you saw 39 years ago?!? Unless you're kidding us. I have trouble remembering where I went, what I did or what I ate the day before. And I'm still considered pretty young! Lol Have a good weekend ya'll!

Norman, Milnot is a condensed canned milk substitute. The song reference is to the Late 70's classic by Rupert Holmes, "The Pina Colada Song".
Now, thank you so much, Turnip, for cursing me with a nightmarish earworm (song stuck repeating in my head) the rest of the day. As a matter of Olympic season goodwill, I will not issue an earworm retaliation!

He's a man with a can, a pan, and a plan.

The movie reference, I believe, is about Ryan McCain, in Loose Canon Cop Who Doesn't Play by the Rules and yep, the song is the Pina Colada song. Alot of things get by this blond brain, but not this time! Lol
