LeConte Lodge is proud to introduce its new website.
www.lecontelodge.com
Same address but new site

Picture
The site has all kinds of useful information about how to make reservations to what to pack when you hike up.

Q. What should I bring?
A. Hand towel and washcloth for a sponge bath–we provide the wash basin and soap. Flashlight, rain gear, layered clothing (nights can drop into 30′s even in summer), sturdy shoes, snacks for hike up and down, water for your hike up, and personal items. Don’t forget cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover only) for souvenir items and tips for the crew.

There is a great online store where you can purchase tie dye LeConte shirts, hats, fleece jackets, and much more. These items are NOT available on the mountain. The same goes for the "I hiked it" shirts. They are not available anywhere BUT on top of the mountain.

Between Lecontelodge.com and highonleconte.com
you will be able to keep up with all of the latest information about Mt. LeConte and LeConte Lodge.

As for today's weather, it is a gorgeous day. Blue skies and nice crisp air. It almost feels like fall. The views go for miles. I hope people will consider hiking up this weekend to escape the heat that is coming our way in the low lands. It will be a pleasant weekend up top.

Excellent redesign on the site. The link to the mountain weather forecast (at 3 different elevations, no less) is going to make life much simpler than the convoluted way I used to work through the weather.gov website to find the information! Thanks for having merchandise, but keeping the "I hiked it" t-shirts for us who get to make it up every year!

why would you spilt your visitors across two websites? Some info on one and some on the other? You need one spot with everything. I like the personalization and info on this one, but the other is where reservations, etc is

The lodge's initial construction predates the National Park Service's later emphasis on rustic construction, and marks a transition from formal European design prototypes to a design philosophy more aligned with locale and native building materials. Thanks.
