Clear Skies Above

10/16/2012

Picture
No rainy mornings here. Just beautiful clear skies. The high yesterday was 47 with sunshine later in the day. The low last night was 29. If we had had a chance of rain, we would have been watching out for snow. Some asked me when it would snow, the answer is, "anytime now". All it takes is precipitation in the forecast and the temperatures to drop as low as they have been and we will see the white stuff. With this being said, come prepared for anything at the top. Make sure you have plenty of clothes to stay warm. I hope everyone enjoys this day.

Bought 4 the first week of April. Only problem we have had is when my daughter shut the dryer door on hers and dried it for whole cycle it came out with a small hole from door and completely twisted but it washed up well and the small hole will last longer than the shirt
Great picture, Allyson hope to be up Sat.

Allyson, You would make a good weather person if you ever want to have a new job. They predict the weather the same way. Most of the time I think we just need to look out the window. lol
Beautiful picture, stay warm.

All you need is a Weather Rock. It's a rock on a string that you hang outside and:

If the rock is wet, it's raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it's a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.

I remember my grandmother having one of those from the Smokies when I was little. She always loved to come to the mountains and just ride around and enjoy the scenery. Cades cove was her favorite.

Do they sell these "weather rocks" at the office or at the Sugarlands Visitor Center? If not, where can you pick one up? Happy trails...

al,
I think I have seen those signs at the Christmas store in the arts and crafts community. But its a sign and not a rock, I think if memory serves me correct. It seems like I've seen something like that at Ogles farther down the road, right across the road from all the yard ortaments.

Allyson, I think what I hear you saying is that you will have some snow for me on Nov. 9th. So ready to be up top and get away from all of this hustle and bustle of office life.

Who designs the t-shirts ? Does that rock need to be quartz, sandstone, basalt, granite, or some other type !?
