Brrr, it is cold up here this morning. The low last night was 29º. I thought we were well on our way to spring. Once again, the mountain has its own agenda. The high yesterday was 56º. We did get a little rain yesterday. It lasted for a couple of hours. Today is starting out sunny and clear.

Yes but look at the view....it sure would be nice waking up to that in the mornin....if only I would've cared about things like this at a younger age before responsibility ....You kinda wonder ....What was God thinking when he made all of these beautiful places...and how did he have time for my little but.....God is great......

Yes Rikki - God is great! We discovered Leconte a few years ago and watching the sunrise has been our favorite. Being up that early watching the sun come over the horizon gives you such a rush! You know without a doubt being on the mountain and seeing the sun rise - there is a God and He is good.

We will see you in a few days. Hiking up Monday and staying the night. We hope the rain passes on through so we can enjoy the awesome sunset from high atop Mt. Leconte.

Think of this special place everyday. Makes me feel so close to God, love all the pictures and hopefully if my knees permit, I can hike up real soon. Keep the beautiful pictures coming.

Beautiful picture! I have done many miles of hiking in the park in my almost 60 years and finally did a day hike to LeConte last October for the first time. It now holds a special place in my heart and your daily posts keep me in contact with the mountain. Thank you and don't ever stop!

Planning on day hiking up tomorow. We came last fall and it was beautiful even though it was overcast and misty the entire time. Hoping for a good view tomorrow.
