The crew woke up this morning to a dusting of new snow. The rain changed to sleet and then snow over night. We did see an inch melt away. That puts the snow level to 11". The low last night was 29 with a high yesterday of 39. We have spotted patches of dirt around camp. Who knew dirt could be such a refreshing site. The crew is ready for days of sunshine and hiking. I believe they are growing a little restless. Godzilla found time to entertain himself.

Looks like Godzilla got thawed out finally; just a week away from my trip up and looking forward to it; have never been to the lodge this time of year; must come sometime while everything is beginning to bloom; guess that would be later in April and/or May; Sunbathing on LeConte; did that once at Myrtle Point: fell asleep right on the rocks; glad a bear didn't see me. g'day crew !

I want to know who carried that sled up the mountain !? And where do you ride it !? Looks like one I used back in the early sixties.....ooops...I'm revealiing my age ! We used to tie three or four of those sleds to a rope which was tied to a little VW car and we'd be hauled around the neighborhood at some rather breakneck and dnagerous speeds. But it was fun. Having rain or snow there today ?

I am so happy to see Godzilla still resides on the mountain! He was there when I did crew with Henry in 96 (I think). Yea! I remember he liked to hang out at the kitchen window. Comments are closed.
