It's that time of day when last nights guests are heading down the mountain and tonights guests are on their way up. Soon these rocking chairs will be filled with people relaxing and enjoying the cool mountain air. Today is going to be a beautiful day. We have been in the high 60's all week. The lows have been in the low 50's. If you are not attending any college football games this weekend, you should lace up those hiking boots and come up see us.

The photo of the porch / rocking chair just increases tenfold my desire to be up at the lodge, but as reservation cancellations are very rare this time of year, I'll have to be content to look at the photo; Sure is appealing ! From the residual moisture on the porch floor it appears that if one had been in the chair at the time, the rain may have forced one to retreat inside, still a nice place.

This "our" cabin. We almost always get assigned this cabin. It's a pleasure to sit on th porch and welcome people into camp as they come down the stairs. Miss being there!

When I first glanced at this photo I thought it was my cabin, No. 9 at the other end of the row, but, yes, it's the one next to the walkway coming in; I agree with Deborah in that it would be an excellent spot from which to speak with and greet incoming, even outgoing, guests. I must request and try this cabin for one of my next year's visits.

I always try to get this cabin. It's fun to get to the lodge early and sit on the porch and see everyone else come in. It's also a great gathering place! Comments are closed.
