It is that time of year to get out and explore the mountain top. It is crazy how the mountain changes year after year. It seems as though there are a lot more blow downs in certain areas. This will eventually lead to the forest floor changing. Chris and I were noticing that the little saplings that were 2 feet tall when we first started are over 7 feet tall. Views we used have have been filled in with new growth. Change is a good thing. It keeps life interesting.
Speaking of change, the temperatures warmed up. The high yesterday was 61 with a low of 39. I hear it is supposed to be warmer today. We will keep our fingers crossed.

Hi Chris, no pics of Dome Falls. I will have to ask around to find if anyone has one. I have not done that bushwack. 4/19/2011 04:39:19 am

I just got word that Mr Bun made it down the mountain safely thanks to Chris. Liam will be very happy. Thanks again to all the staff for a great time and Allyson, it was nice meeting you. I still can't believe that with 4.5 inches of rain not a drop fell on us coming up or going down the mountain.
Great shots! I have been following your posts for quite a while now. My husband and I have day-hiked LeConte several times over the years and spent the night in the shelter the year it was rebuilt. LeConte is a magical place. Comments are closed.
