The forecast is calling for sunshine for the day. So far, they have been wrong. We awoke to morning showers. Hopefully this will move on out and the sun will grace us with its presence later today. It is a busy day on the mountain. Most of camp is staying for a second night. People always ask me how long most people stay. Two nights gives you a chance to check out the mountain and do some shorter day hikes on your free day. I highly recommend taking an extra day up top and enjoying what Mt. LeConte has to offer.

Good morning: Haven't yet identified the bloom in your photo; must get out my reference book; Yes, a two-night stay at the lodge is my preference, although I'll take one; I've never really asked at your office, but I think a lengthier visit would be nice as well; Have you ever spotted any snakes around the lodge; I had to grab a black snake by his tail yesterday and carry him out into the woods; But, I suppose he was keeping the field mice under control in my tool shed ! Made me wonder about any being spotted that high on the mountain; Have a great day up there folks ! D.

I've done the one night stay and have said when I make it back, it will be for two. For the reason of wanting to take it all in and not feel rushed.

Would love to stay a second night when I do my yearly trip in September but doubt I could get a second night tacked on. Just glad I have one night every year. Might have to try for a 2 night stay another time of the year. It would be awesome to explore and then kick back and enjoy the nature at the top! Comments are closed.
