We have watch'd the seasons dispensing themselves and passing on, And we have said, Why should not a man or woman do as much as the seasons, and effuse as much? Whitman

Morning y'all,
It's a warm, blustery day up top. The high yesterday reached 48 degrees. The overnight low was 36 degrees. It was 40 degrees and clear at 7am observation. The mountain received .12 inches of rain yesterday afternoon. There is very little snow and ice remaining up top. I would imagine that Microspikes are no longer necessary. It looks as though it'll be a windy day with a bit of rain this afternoon. Get out and enjoy the park while it's quiet!

Albert B. & Sgt. Hulka , I can associate with you two about the rocks at 'hight top' in yesterdays blog. If I could get there, I might add or subtract (take away one I added many years ago). You see those rock piles on just about every trail you walk. Have a great day all!

I have to admit to adding a rock or two to that pile. Heard it was a light hearted attempt to make Leconte the highest peak in the park. Love the blog. Wish I could be there again. Barrie b

The pile of rocks sounds like a cairn to me. Most famous mountain tops have one I have heard and seen a few.. They are just to say "Yay! I've been h ere. No defacement intended. The law says: "Don't take:"-not "don't move.".

It's defacement no matter how you try to justify it.

JP and Grace, thank's so much for all you did helping with Skip. I got my wagon loaded when he broke 6 back and 5 front ribs and busted back of his head. Skip got to ride in a Black Hawk, I got to hike down. Hope I never get a ride up a cable like Skip. He is getting better. Thank's again for helping. Jimmy
