Good Morning,                                                   10:30AM

It’s currently 39 degrees - cloudy and raining. Yesterday’s high was 39 degrees, with an overnight low of 29 degrees. We received .5” inches of rain.

US Hwy 441/ Newfound Gap Rd from Gatlinburg TN to Cherokee NC is now open.

--

I called in the weather and re-directed my attention to the cup of coffee resting on the counter. The music of rain thumped outside, a gust of wind chimed into the rhythmic song. I sipped my coffee and thought about the mountains just outside the window. The ever changing landscape never ceased to amaze me.

Grabbing two 7 gallon water jugs, I trudged through the slush. It was time to refill my water supply. I enjoyed the process of fetching water. Carrying over 100 pounds of water back up the mountains was always challenging and equally as rewarding. Every time I hauled the liquid gold, my appreciation for it grew. Lifting the load…

I began the ascent.

Onward,
Seth

I don't want to believe you are there alone. There should be two, in case an accident or whatever. Be safe. Always love and appreciate your words and pictures.

Seth, What is your source of water ? That's a pretty good workout weighing 117 lbs. ! How far away from the kitchen do you have to carry the liquid gold ? I envy you getting to live on Mount LeConte , I've kept up with the blog for several years now and this is my first comments to it . I really enjoy your photography ! Thanks for posting all the pictures of nature and the magnificent views !

Am I the only Packer fan that thinks the picture of Seth looks like Aaron Rogers?

Haha! Yes he does! A few years back when the Packers were offering up stock to the public, I asked my family to buy me one of those single shares for a Christmas present. I wanted to be able to say I was one of the owners of the Packers! Lol Didn't get it.

Seth, I so enjoy your poetic descriptions of the daily life of being on LeConte! For those of us that can't be there, you give us a good visual, even without photos! You have a gift for writing (which I am sure you have been told!), but this is one reader that totally enjoys what you share with us! Thank you!!
