Don't be like a sparrow jumping from branch to branch. While you look for love here and there The fire I lit inside you will only grow cold. Rumi

Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful, cold morning up top. The high yesterday reached 22 degrees. The overnight low was -2 degrees. It was -2 degrees and clear at 7am observation. The mountain received a trace of snow and our snowfall depth is 6 inches. I came up Alum yesterday afternoon and would still recommend warm winter boots, wool socks, gaiters and traction devices. The snow is relatively packed down, but it is due to be uncomfortably cold today - be prepared for the elements! Get out and enjoy this beautiful Saturday!

J.P., I have been enjoying your posts for, I reckon, three years now and, as always, I marvel at your sense of adventure, your stamina, your dedication, your multi -faceted creativity and your ability to immerse yourself in your environment. One question: what camera gear do you use? I'm a pro photog and usually that question is not important to me but the image quality you get and the portability you need begs the query.
Keep up the good etcetera.

Raz,

I appreciate the kind words. I use my Iphone 5s. I do not use any fancy photography apps, usually just the touch ups that are on the phone... The biggest trick is keeping it warm in an old wool sock so that it doesn't die on long runs and hikes in the cold...

Hey JP, I spoke with you on the phone a couple of months ago asking what life was like for you there while caretaker of LeConte. I was wondering if you have an email I could keep in touch with you by and would you mind sending it. I really do not have anything to post but would like to keep in touch periodically via this method if you are agreeable to do so. Hope you have been doing well...

Thanks for the invitation but I think that I'll wait for warmer weather. Say, somewhere around April 18.
