 Good morning from your arctic weather man, High Fives and Good Vibes! Today is shaping up to be a fine morning on the mountain. The sun is out and giving some much needed love to our solar panels. Colder temperatures moved in mid afternoon yesterday, with a light mist most of the day. Winds are calm compared to what we saw the other night. It's been a wet week here on the mountain, and I'm grateful to see the sun this morning! The high yesterday reached 40 degrees. And our overnight low dropped down to 11 degrees. It was 12 degrees and clear skies at 7am observation. We received 0.24 inches of precipitation. I will be out and about on trail today soaking up the sunlight! Trails could have patches of ice with the drop in temperatures so plan accordingly. It is currently 14 degrees and a beautiful morning! It's VALENTINE'S DAY! Get out and enjoy everything the Smokies have to offer with your loved one! Whether hiking, or dinner and a movie, I wish everyone love on this special day! Also, it's my dad's birthday!
