My friends always say how amazed they are that Chris and I can work a job like this and always seem so happy. Well, the above picture is how. This month has been hard because we had to take our days off seperate from each other. We went from seeing each other all of the time to spending two days together in the past three weeks. My amazing husband, who is currently on his days off, decided to grab a bouquet of roses and ice cream and do a day run up to see me. That is the answer to how we make this job work. I did talk him into spending the night by telling him I would make him pancakes and coffee for breakfast. I think that is the real reason he came up. Now that I am finished sharing about my husband I will tell you that yesterdays high was 61 with a low of 43. We are starting the day off with a little bit of cloud coverage. All in all, it looks like it might be a good day for a hike.

I could just see him hiking up the trail with flowers in hand. "Who are those flowers for?" "A girl." "Must be some girl."

You are truly blessed to have a spouse who shares your passion for the outdoors and adventure. I'd like to know what that's like. For me, ANY day is good for a hike; it has to be pretty bad out to prevent me from gettng on a trail. And I thought I was doing pretty good when I brought up some Cadbury chocolate eggs one Easter. Ice cream, eh !? Now that's impressive ! I wonder sometimes what sort of treats the crew in general would enjoy having that they don't usually ? I think I know how he kept the ice cream from melting. Have a great day up there folks !

Ahhh!! I was at the LeConte Shelter last night. Was walking around near the trail in front of the shelter yesterday afternoon when he passed... he asked what time it was and after he passed I noticed the roses strapped to the outside of the pack! Nice job. He came up Boulevard I assume since that was direction he came from.

I agree - he is definitely a "keeper". The roses are gorgeous and I bet the ice cream tasted extra special.
