Getting chilly up here!

9/27/2016

Greetings valley dwellers! Fall is here! A cold front moved in and temperatures dropped to low 50s. 52 last night, 54 currently. Perfect cozy blanket and pumpkin spice everything weather. We're taking bets on when the first snow will hit! Remember to bring the proper gear for chilly weather hiking if you are planning a trip up the mountain. Happy hiking! Love, Turnip

So, I've rocked on the porch overlooking the tac house many times, and now I must ask: what's in the tax house?

Darn spell corrector: 'tac house'

The tack house is crew quarters

Are there still mice running around the crew quarters?

Good luck J.L.on answer about mice I have asked before (no answer) my daughter has also because she spent the night 4-10-2010 and they were running in her room, must be a cruelty to animals becasue no harm in d-con ,no smell & they just dry up and they would never see be seen.Would save on having to put valuables etc.in cans, and how do they keep them out of kitchen supplies etc.never the less they have their reason I am sure, they just work there.LOL

Mice. ..... They live there. They are trapped out of all food service areas. No pesticides are permitted in the National Park because other wildlife could be harmed if the mice were eaten after ingesting a pesticide. The deer mouse population varies from year to year based on winter weather conditions

The first snowflakes of the season will descend upon Mt. LeConte on October 9 at precisely 8:47 A.M.

That's amusing Kent! And, if they do, I predict you will have a new career.......a psychic! Can't wait til you hike up that mountain with me and Tommy, and now it looks like Doug Y also! That's nice.....now I will have three guys to carry my gear, or take turns piggy backing me! Just kidding! 🙃 Ha!

I'll take that back! I've decided to make a first snowfall prediction myself. Based on my luck lately, I predict the first snow flakes will fall somewhere between Monday, October 24 and Wednesday, October 26! Have a great first October weekend! It's the MOST wonderful time of the year!
