The past few days have been cloudy and rainy. It is hard to get the computer charged when the sunshine is not cooperating. We finally have a beautiful day and plenty of rays to charge all of the electrical gadgets. Unfortunately, the thermometer for the outside temperature is broken. We are currently waiting for a replacement. I can tell you that it is going to be a great day for being outdoors adn h

Just want to let everyone know that I got engaged on the mountain on Saturday afternoon!!! I popped the question at inspiration point and she said yes (of course!)...Thanks to all the groups of people who got pictures of us! It was the perfect afternoon and I could not have thought of a better place to do it than our favorite place in the world. Wish I could have gotten a night up at the lodge when I sent the request back during the request period, but it still turned out to be the most wonderful day in the world :) We are so very happy to have been surrounded by all the wonderful people who hike this wonderful mountain! Thanks everyone!

Congratulations Erik! My husband and I were one of the first ones you met going back down the trail after you popped the question. You both looked so happy and her ring is gorgeous. It was a beautiful day that day and my first trip up. The best to you and your fiancee.

Congratulations again! You make a beautiful couple. My sister and I met you at inspiration point and I think took the first picture. We have been enjoying including your story in our tales of our Mt LeConte adventure!!

I have asked this question during the winter and we came to the conclussion that the peaks in this picture are West Point and Balsam Point. Since our 10 year vet Allyson is back I thought that I would confirm one last time. Are these peaks which are prominent in so many of my sunset photos West and Balsam Points?

Definitely West and Balsam Point. Though, the picture was taken from within the restricted area next to Cliff Tops. I noticed that several photos over the course of following this blog, are taken from this area. I'm not worried about the LeConte caretakers going in there though. If anyone knows how to respect the land, it'll be them.

Thanks Rod. Makes sense that it is in an area that I have not been to since my photos from Cliff Tops are more to the left with the sun setting right between the peaks.
