The crisp fall air makes for some clear views of the valley below. The views of Douglas Lake are as sharp as can be. The low last night was 21 with a high yesterday of 40. It was an eye catching display when you turned the corner at the top of Alum Cave trail. The top of Mt. LeConte was covered in rime ice against an azure blue sky. It was a breathtaking sight to see.

Wow, I thought I was doing pretty good back in July, when I could clearly photograph English Mtn over 18 miles away. Looks like you can make out the ridgeline near Rutledge, 45 miles away!

Looks like our hike up for lunch on Sunday will be in perfect weather. Wish we were staying the night but we didn't get reservations. That will not be an issue next year, I was one of the lucky ones that got through on the phone today to make our reservation for 2012. Comments are closed.
