Happy Birthday Chrissy

Chrissy and Walt hike up chairs.
Sometimes the only way to get items up the mountain is to strap them on our backs. Chrissy and Walt agreed to put a couple of chairs on their backs and hike them up the hill. No, grandma was not sitting in them.

Today is Chrissy's birthday! She has never seen a bear in the wild. I saw our first bear in camp this morning. I told her she might get a great b'day present and spot him again.

It was a chilly night last night. The low was only 50, but the clouds were blowing in and it made the air quit cool.
The high was 63. Sunny up top as I write. I hope it holds out. Chris and I hike down this evening. Meredith will fill you in the mountain musings while we are gone. See you all Tuesday.

Good morning and best birthday wishes to Chrissy.

What trail does the LeConte staff generally use for trips to and from the lodge?

Happy Birthday. I saw on the crew profile that you are from Cincinnati. Good to see a fellow Cincinnatian living on the mountain. Do you have Skyline and Graeter's cravings up there?

Happy Birthday, Chrissy! I met you this spring wearing my Buckeye shirt even though I am a friend of John's mom. Hope you get to see that bear!

Happy Birthday Chrissy. Jack would be so proud of your chair hauling event. Even if your mom wasn't in the chair.

Just curious...What trail did y'all take up with the chairs?

The staff usually comes up Alum. It is the shortest commute to work. As for the trail they used to hike the chairs up, Alum Cave Bluff trail.

Enjoyed a hike up the mountain on Wednesday, June 15th. We left the trailhead at 6:30am and it was sunny, but when we got to the top all you could see was clouds in front of your face. We were disappointed, but it gives another excuse to hike up again the next time we are in the area.
