Happy Monday!

9/19/2011

Good morning and I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their week!  We are in one of those weird "in between two levels of clouds" kind of places today.  There are some very high clouds creating a blanket over the whole area and then there are small groupings of clouds below us splattering the valley.  It is also kind of gusty today.

We had a nice day yesterday, even though it was overcast most of the day.  It only reached 62 making it a perfect day for some hiking.  The clouds, however, cleared off just too late for sunset, but it did give everyone a view of the city and all its lights.  The temperature dropped down to 50 last night.  Fall is here!

This is a photo I took the other night after I had already posted to the blog but I wanted to share it with you.  The cloud inversion made for a beautiful sunset!

I'd really love to have an aerial photograph of Mt Leconte when surrounded by a sea of clouds.

That would be so cool!

Beautiful picture. We are planning a day hike up the mountain either Nov. 4th or 5th. Can't wait!

Beautiful pictures as always. Just love the clouds in the mountains like that.

For those who love clouds, there's an internet site called the "Cloud Appreciation Society" where there are various interesting cloud photos; I haven't looked at this site a lot, but from what I've seen so far, there's some interesting content; For me, though, there's nothing like the clouds seen from Leconte !
