It feels good to be home. Chris and I had an excellent hike up yesterday. You could not have asked for better weather. There is still a bit color hanging on in the lower elevations. A lot of day hikers were out taking advantage of the day. We are ready to knock the last of the season out. We have 28 days left. My how time flies when you are having fun. The high yesterday was 61 with a low last night of 41. I did not see any northern lights. I heard they were visible the night before. I have witnessed the incredible light display a couple of times from the mountain. It is an amazing sight to see.

Yesterday was my first trip to LeConte, and it was awesome! It is something you have to see in person to realize the beauty. And it was great meeting you on our way down. As I told you yesterday, I so enjoy this blog.

Do you consider Mt. LeConte home, or is home in the lowlands? Or, is home where you hang your hat? Just curious..

Great question Deb. I consider myself to have two homes. One in Gatlinburg and the one on the mountain. I spend the equal amounts of time at both, so they both feel like home.

Today my Fiance and I made the hike up to the lodge for the first time. I have lived in Maryville all my life and have never been able to make it before now for some sad reason. We are getting married in Cades Cove on friday and she is 4 months pregnant. Today was something very special to the both of us and we have every intention on coming back more often. We are already making plans to start spending our anniversarys there as much as we can. You have a great staff and I cannot wait to make the trip again. Thank you so much for all you do to make wonderful place excist. Comments are closed.
