Hello Mr. Moon

It was too cloudy to experience the blood moon the other evening, but we were treated to a beautiful October moon last night. It was the perfect ending to a picture perfect day. The staff was blown away at how far you can see on a extremely clear day. Do you all know how many states you can see from Myrtle Point on a clear day? Well, I will tell you. The answer is five. You can see Brass Town Bald in Georgia, Mt. Mitchell in North Carolina, Virgina, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

The temperatures were just as nice as the day was beautiful. The high was 57º with a low of 42º. It was great day for drinking hot cocoa while checking out the amazing views from our back porch. We saw a lot of hikers who had the same thought we did.

Interesting photo this morning. Rather surreal looking.

Sounds perfect. I'm so looking forward to our stay! Hoping for a clear night. I will be enjoying that hot chocolate this year. Need to get a thermos to keep it close in my room & to carry some back down with me. Maybe I'll just fill my water bladder with it for the hike down. :)

That definitely seems like a far line of site from Myrtle Point. The moon still looks nice even though it was cloudy. The moon for me was big and red last night, it was a beautiful site.
