Hey Ellen!!!

8/31/2013

If you are having another dreary day like we are on the mountain, I thought I would share something that I knew would put a smile on your face.

Bethany and Courtney, two of our fabulous crew members, discovered they were both huge fans of The Ellen Degeneres Show. Throughout the months they were joking about what they were doing while other people were getting to watch Ellen. They decided it would be fun to make a little video and send it to Ellen to share what their day looks like. This video is not only humorous, it gives you a great glimpse of this beautiful mountain top. I hope you will all click on the link and watch this awesome video that the crew put together in their spare time. Let's get Ellen's attention.

Love the video. I cannot wait to share with family and friends. My ever supportive husband and myself finished our final training day for our second hike to Mt. LeConte this morning. How do you train for a hike up a mountain, when their are no mountains in flat SW FL? Parking garage. Yep, every Saturday morning, we head out with with our backpacks and trekking poles in tote. Believe me, we have had some weird looks. We have also made some friends that we have shared our love for Mt. LeConte. My first hike was in April of 2012, during a snow storm. A Florida girl in a snow storm was not pretty. Thanks to my wonderful hubby, we were prepared! We will be seeing you guys soon on the 10th and 11th. Hopefully minus ice and snow.

I too live in SW Florida but love to hike the Smoky's and especially Mt. LeConte. As a suggestion, if you are fortunate enough to live near I-75 you can hike up and down the overpasses. Enjoy your hike and I know you two will do just fine. I too hope to make it up to LeConte in Sept. and/or Oct. Great video girls!! Really enjoyed it!
