Morning folks,
It's another beautiful day up top. The forecasters are projecting these clear skies to continue for the next few days. Yesterday started off quite cold at 11 degrees and only got up to 16 during the day, but the temperature steadily rose overnight and peaked at 26 this morning. The trails are a little icy up top. Traction devices are not necessary as long as you're cautious. I had a spectacular hike up Alum yesterday with a few friends. We took our time and soaked in the sights along the way. We stopped for long breaks at Inspiration Point and Alum Cave, then had a great sunset at Cliff Tops, and a stunning sunrise at Myrtle Point - the whole grand experience. The colours at sunrise were especially jaw dropping. I'd gladly relive these last 24 hours as my Groundhog Day.

Big difference from last weekend! We hiked up sunday in paper thin tee shirts & thin yoga pants. I saw some guys laying out with no shirts & shorts on out on myrtle's point.

Right tom d ! I've lived my life full of great outdoor experiences and finally got my head together. Then my body started falling apart and my mind, well, at least it seems to be allright. No memory loss, perhaps a wee bit of absent mindedness. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded. Funny, I don't remember being absenbt minded. I can still hike and that will sustain me for as long as I can manage that. Last night under a nearly full moon I went outside for a brief breath of cool. crisp, fresh lung-tingling air and wondered how a hike up to the lodge on one of the trails would be in the moonlight for it seemed to be lighting up everything. Might be an interesting hike. I've done plenty of nighttime hiking but not a lot under full moonlight. Good quote today, JP. I thought I wanted an Ipad but on second thought decided that I really didn't need one. Funny, I don't remember being absent minded. Good day to you ! 11/25/2012 08:01:51 am
I love the quote from St. Wendell, though my work (and some friendships) would be complicated without an occasional screen. I hope we can communicate sans screens before the winter is far along.
