if i know only one thing, it's that everything that i see of the world outside is so inconceivable often i barely can speak.

I believe you are latent with unseen existences, you are so dear to me. Whitman
Morning y'all,

It's a gorgeous, snowy morning up top. The mountain is dazzling white. The high yesterday reached 27 degrees. The low was 16 degrees. It was 16 degrees and snowing lightly at 7am observation. The storm didn't hit quite as hard overnight as expected and the mountain received little snow. There is still about 2 inches up top and it looks like it will continue to accumulate throughout the day. The trails are in good shape, the fresh powder has great traction. I came up yesterday without any traction devices and didn't slip at all. Enjoy the trails and be safe!

I had another fantastic, long hike yesterday. I timed it perfectly and had 10 miles to go at 4pm, the best time to be out. I enjoy the time of long shadows, preferring late evening to early morning. I have an easier time when I'm tired from the days effort, my mind slows with my legs and the languid, intuitive all seeing eye does it's best observing during these hours. My higher mind shuts itself down and all I do is see. It seems like the golden light breaks all barriers. Self doubt fades like early morning fog. There is nothing but glory and salvation in these hours.

"There is nothing but glory & salvation..."

can you unpack that thought for me?

Rev Dan

I'm unsure what JP is talking about. But these are both from God...
Glory--The manifest presence of God.
Salvation--Life saved from the consequence of death by Christ's atoning work for our sins.

I get the glory part Rev, seeing God's presence in His creation. I'm confused about JP's salvation comment too. Maybe he'll explain?

He's quite the purveyor loquacious drivel.

Yeah, but wait til you read how the ladies swoon over his words.

Tony,
If you want to call it drivel, that is fine. But you might want to borrow a preposition.

The eloquence and sagacity of JW's retort cannot be denied.

JP is experiencing his spiritual nature which happens when our human nature is subdued. Living in the spirit brings God's glory into the world and the spirit is our eternal salvation

I understand where JP is coming from, I have been in church my entire life and have always felt closer to God out in his creation, and being somewhere like the back country surrounding LeConte just brings him that much closer.
