Morning y'all, It's another beautiful morning up high. The high yesterday reached 23 degrees. The overnight low was 7 degrees. It was 19 degrees and clear at 7am observation. The mountain received no new snow and our snowfall total is around 12 inches. Some of the trails are packed down, but I would encourage Microspikes and winter boots if you intend to reach the summit in comfort. Enjoy the day!

Norman, if you dug a hole from Leconte Lodge straight down through the Earth and on out to the other side of the world, then you jumped in, how long so you think it would take for you to fall all the way through and come out on the other side !~?

I'm planning to go up and down via the Rainbow Falls trail. I summited Cammerer via Cosby/Low Gap/AT today...the road to the Cosby campsite was closed so that added another 3.4 miles round trip. So it was a 15 mile day today, about 6" of snow most of the way up, a few people hanging out at the tower, and the weather was perfect. A good day! Comments are closed.
