Positive-Vibe Warrior here! Sun's out and it's slowly starting to feel like fall up here. The llamas are here and seem to be enjoying the cool mountain air. Yesterdays high was 65 degrees and last nights low was 47 degrees. I'd like to take this time to interview my roommate Justin to better figure out who this guy really is. Q: Favorite color? A: Clear (What does that even mean) Q: Dogs or cats? A: Dogs Q: Weapon of choice in a zombie apocalypse? A: Slingshot Q: Favorite sport? A: Backpacking In his natural habitat

And does not dust under his bed ha Speaking of the cool mountain air, even here in London I am feeling some of it creeping into the weather each morning which is making my walks around the property a bit better, walks I'm doing in preparation for my trek to the Lodge October 25th, if not a day earlier. My anticipation grows every day and I am full well ready to return to the mountain. The cool air will be a very welcome part of that trip. Every year around this time, when the air begins to cool, my desire to be out hiking increases almost exponentially and I begin to go through my equipment and get my day pack ready. I am always amused at some of the questions people ask about what gear to take, particularly to the Lodge, and I am guilty often of carrying far too much of it, so this next trip I am reducing what I take quite a lot and should do just as well with that. Personally, I carry barely enough water to get me to the Lodge, and have always done well with that which, water being the heaviest item in my little pack, reduces the overall weight I carry. I often wonder at the strength and ability of John Muir to hike with very little gear. What a rugged man ! Remember: "No matter where you go, there you are !" Comments are closed.
