Is That the Sun?

6/29/2013

What a sight to behold. The sun has come out to start our day. The crew is in much need of a good sunny day. Chris decided to add up our rain fall for the month of June. We had rain 21 days out of 29. The total rain fall, so far this month, is 14.88". We received an inch of that yesterday. The high yesterday was 64º with a low of 49º. What a change from the heat we were experiencing last year.

We will be there first week of July. Keep the cool temps for us! It's sweltering in FL.

Down here in Alabama, it's like a tropical rain forest. I just checked the rain gauge and our total for the month is 7.85". I think I need to come to the mountains.

Live from Southern Indiana, and our total rainfall for this June has been 3.4 inches, which for this part of the country these days is a rainy month.

Come on Allyson, keep the skies clear for the 4th when we come up. Fingers crossed, heart racing, filled with excitement, like a kid at Christmas time.

Morning to all up top, Brian N Bama, I've got the same feeling as you. Coming up Alum on the morning of the 5th. Funny when you don't live there how much you want to be there.

I would love to meet some of you regulars who are heading up on the Fourth of July, but I have family coming to visit for the weekend. I may try to slip away and run up the mountain and see people off at the trailhead :-). I hope you all have a great time, save me a good seat in the dining room, as I will be there myself on July 12th!! If any of you get extra time to spend in the park, come on over to Ocoanluftee Visitor Center on Sunday evening, I will be there volunteering. Work mostly outside keeping tabs on the visitors who want an elk encounter! happy to meet other LeConte lovers :-)).
