Greetings valley dwellers! It's a beautiful, crisp day here on the mountain. Our llama mama and the boys are heading up trillium to bring us delicious goodies today. Jess is cooking us some bacon this morning to put in one of her amazing frittatas! A frequent blog comment contributor, Tammy, stayed at the lodge last night and brought us some awesome festive fall cookies! Thanks a bunch Tammy! The current temperature is 48 and the low last night was 39. Brrrrr! Remember your cold weather gear if you're planning a hike up. Happy hiking, love Turnip.

I agree with you on all counts! Glad Tammy made it OK! Pumpkin spice doughnuts are in right now,I love em with bacon! HAGD all.

Hey Turnip. Thanks for the update. For those of us hiking up this coming weekend, is it still icy requiring crampons or just chilly where layers and gloves are needed?

I am headed up to mt leconte sunday via the rainbow falls trail! I am so excited! I've never been and this will be my longest day hike I've ever done! The weather for Gburg sunday says high of 81 what should i expect up there? trying to figure out what hiking clothes to wear!

Your are quite welcome, and I hope you all enjoyed the Halloween cookies. You were a very hospitable bunch of crew members! Now, I just wish the trails were more hospitable to my feet!
