Ahhh, an actual sunrise. It is great to start your morning with a nice sunrise on Mt. LeConte. We have missed it the past few days. It sounds as though this weekend is going to be a keeper. Sun and warmer temperatures moving in. The high yesterday was only 50. I am not quit ready for winter.

TWO more days and I'll be atop that mountain for a sunset and sunrise. Am counting the hours now. Have had my pack ready for a week. Glad that my reservations are for this Sunday and not last Sunday. Looking forward to showing my brother my favorite place in the world. Will look forward to your good meals and excellent service. And the hot choc of course. See you on Sunday!

Sun . . . . I had almost forgotten what that was. Haven't seen it here around Philly since last Sunday. We've had 6.5 inches of rain in three days, but there's hope of seeing that golden orb today!

Can't wait to come up this Sunday. Full moon on Monday should make it pretty spectacular for Sunday night. Looking forward to great company and more great memories!

Hi Ken, I purchased my camera from B&H camera supply. I love my Olympus xz-1. It is a great point and shoot with so many fun settings. It records raw as well, which is the main feature I was looking for in a point and shoot. It gives me a little more freedom while bushwacking and hiking.

Hello Allyson, we hiked up yesterday, in fact we met you and Chris as you were running your trail as we were coming in. Great hike. My question is when we reached the bluffs going down we heard a bird calling. Could it have been a peregrine falcon? One of the girls seen a big bird fly but could not identify. Hoping you have heard it on your way down or someone might have told you about it.

Yes, but your winter photo of LeConte is SO beautiful! Which trail can you ski to get up there? :)

@Patty- that may have been the peregrine. They are often times spotted around the bluffs. Comments are closed.
