Morning,

It's a gray day up top. The high yesterday reached 50 degrees. The overnight low was 44 degrees. It was 45 degrees and drizzling lightly at 7am observation. The mountain received .22" of rain yesterday. There is no more snow on the ground up top. The trails are very wet, but clear of ice. Enjoy the day.

Where is JP and what have you done with him?? We read this blog because we love your lyrical prose, thought-provoking quotes, and your wonderful musings on living up top! Don't cut us off, JP! I hope you have a great weekend--take care!

Beautiful photo! Tried to overcome my LeConte craving by a hike to a local pinnacle. Here are my photos and the little story that was inspired by the soaking rain: http://helenbukulmez.com/2013/01/12/a-winter-hike-story/

For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
