Good morning, It’s currently 26 degrees and clear up top. Yesterday’s high was 33 degrees, with an overnight low of 11 degrees. Cherokee Orchard Road is now open. Hwy 441 is still closed. -- I walked outside into the cool evening calm. The temperature had warmed to a comfortable 30 degrees. The smell of roasted asparagus and glazed salmon loitered from the kitchen. I looked back at the orange glow radiating from my winter home. The stars seemed to twinkle their praise at my current disposition. I smiled back, asking each twinkling ball of fire to hold still. I released my camera’s shutter… …capturing the moment. I am probably way down the line, but I want to say today's photo is the best of the winter season! If staged for a movie production, it could not look any better. The stars are are so clear and concentrated close together.

Magnificent photo of the night sky ! One wouldn't need a telescope or maybe even binoculars up there on such a night. Beautiful !

Godzilla belonged to my oldest son, Nathan when he was three years old. He is now 34. Nathan left the mountain when he was 7, but Godzilla just couldn’t bear to leave the Lodge. He has somehow survived everything the mountain has thrown his way. So, he lives on....watching as the years float by.

First photo.is amazing! Both beautiful and serene. It "feels" like a cold winter night. I'd like to save this one Seth if you don't mind.
