Good Morning From Mt LeConte Lodge
It’s snowing again and the roads are closed again! The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Advisory and is predicting 3 to 6 inches of snow today for our area. The current temperature is 23 degrees. The Lodge received 1.1 inches of rain before the precipitation turned to snow. It’s time to begin recommending that y’all carry traction devices again. I know that everyone enjoyed the warmer weather while it lasted, but it’s still winter time in the mountains. I just came back inside after changing the date on the sign and heard that a local Bluegrass radio station was dedicating a segment of their Sunday morning Southern Bluegrass Gospel Music program to WILDCAT up on Mt LeConte. I greatly appreciate all of your prayers and support. It makes me feel special! HAPPY TRAILS!! WILDCAT/Bert

My daughter, son in law hiked to/ from mt leconte via boulevard trail on Dec 23, 2023. We came across a fellow returning from the trail to the cabins. He asked where we were going and we told him back down via Boulevard. He said good luck. Was that you wildcat?

I’m late to the blog this year but will be back regularly! I live vicariously with you up there! It’s awesome! At 77, I won’t be up there in person!

I was up at Carter Notch Hut in the White Mountains of New Hampshire this morning. Upside-down weather, morning low was 28 degrees on the summit of Mount Washington.
