Good morning folks,
It’s a moody, windy morning on the mountain. Surges of wind push through camp. The high yesterday reached 40 degrees. The overnight low only dropped down to a measly 26 degrees. It’s currently 33 degrees. Snow depth is 7” around the lodge. Much deeper pockets on the mountain after meandering around yesterday. A very warm, blue bird day. Ravens/crows soared around West peak. Very playful birds! Rain moves into East Tennessee today with everyone receiving some wet precipitation. We could possibly see another dusting of snow overnight on the mountain. Looking ahead, colder weather returns next week with abundant sunshine. US Highway 441 is open, watch for snow/ice. Also, we are under a Wind Advisory until 7pm tonight. The mountain has been silent for over a week now. I sip coffee and admire the silence. Have a good one! Oil lamps take over the dark morning. The kettle is roaring, reminding me that coffee is ready. The hot steam floats out of my insulated mug and dances in the light. Early mornings are my favorite time on the mountain. Looks to be a very relaxing day up top! Now that there is access to the mountain, crampons will be needed to reach the summit. SEE YOU AT THE TOP! PNUT

Keep up with the Beautiful pictures and posts. I love looking at them every night. Makes me look forward to getting up there in April. I have stage 4 colon cancer, so each time I go up I don't know if it will be my last. So that's why I look forward to it SO MUCH. Thanks PNUT.
