So sorry about the lack of text yesterday! Sometimes the internet up here can be very picky about what it will and will not upload. It was cool and rainy yesterday, the high was 61 and the low was 49 and we had 1.2" of rain. Today has been very much the same so far, the temperature only in the mid 50's and showers throughout the morning. There is a flash flood warning for the area through tomorrow because of all the steady rain this week, so be cautious and aware on trail and have a safe Friday!

What a peaceful scene in the first shot! A nice little cabin tucked in the woods overlooking a beautiful valley all while the resident "Lawn Mower" does her daily chores!!! You know you've found a little slice of heaven on earth when the deer mingle with and don't mind the intrusion of the humanoids! Awesome!!! I have to say that I have been following this site for many years and in all those posts I never tire of what the pic of the day will be nor have I ever seen a pic of the same thing!!!! How many places can one go and see all the diverse feasts for the eyes as you have out your door at Mt LeConte Lodge.. Thanks for posting a daily view to one of my favorite places in the world!!!!

Looks like a hidden, secluded cabin a world away from civilization, until you see the solar panel and fire hydrant. I'm guessing there is a diesel or gas powered pump for fire protection. I would trade temp. hi and low with Mt. Leconte. Currently 95 @ 4:30 in lower Bama. A happy and safe 4th of July weekend to all.

Happy 4th ya'll! I've never been on top so I don't know what the valley view looks like, but I hope you have clear skies tonight so you have a chance at seeing some firework displays!
