Hello down there! I hope y'all had a festive and safe 4th. Ours up here was wonderful. We were able to eat our dinner out on the porch, watch fireworks because the rain held off, and reminisce about how the season has gone so far. It really was a great night.
It's raining. Yep..finally! #WeNeedRainSoBad
It is currently 58.5 degrees and thundering. #boom
Yesterday's high reached 69 and the low dropped to 57 degrees.

In all my years of following this blog, I do not recall a picture of fireworks as seen from the Lodge. Having never stayed during Independence Day, I would love to see some if any are available.

Enjoyed our day hike up on the 3rd our 40th anniversary! and will be back in Nov for two nights!! Hope you enjoyed the fruit we brought!

JW, 2 years ago my wife and I hiked up Rainbow Falls/down Bullhead on the 3rd then got up the next day on our Anniversary (7/4) and went up and down Alum. It was only our 12th anniversary, though, so I pray that we'll be heading back up 26 years from now on our 40th (just celebrated Number 14 yesterday). Congrats not only on the hike but for successfully navigating the highs (LeConte) and lows (bell bottoms and disco music) of 4 decades together.
