Good morning, As I sit patiently awaiting the arrival of llamas, with their water buckets on standby, I find the time to reflect on the beautiful morning. The cool breeze passing through the trees and around the cabins makes for a chilly morning. A slight fog keeps rolling up and over the mountain letting the sunshine through only for brief moments. Though the sunrise didn't fill the sky with color there is plenty of green growing tall from the ground all around us. What a wonderful place of peace and beauty to be. Last night the glow of the heaters filled camp as temperatures dropped to a chilly 51 degrees. Today we are expecting to warm up with highs to be in the upper 60s. July still remains a rain free month but likely to change tonight with slight chance of scattered showers. -Adventure is out there.

I especially enjoy the black & white photos of spots around the Lodge grounds. During this oppressive heat it would be nice to be up there where it's cooler than down in the valleys. I camped at Balsam Mountain recently and the temperatures up there (5130 el) were pleasant although there were thousands of little annoying gnats flying all around. There, sites #5, 6, 7, 19, 21 & 23 are thye best ones...………….

That picture from the top of Mt. LeConte is awesome! It just became my new desktop background picture!
