Good morning all,
Good Morning All, Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials announced that Trillium Gap Trail will be temporarily closed through Thursday, July 11, due to hazardous trail conditions. The area received heavy rainfall over the last couple of weeks causing extremely slippery, muddy conditions on the trail surface undergoing rehabyilitation. Our llama friends have been given permission from park service to continue using Trillium Gap Trail in order to get supplies to the lodge. The llama schedule is Monday Wednesday and a mix of Thursday and Friday. It’s that time of year when we start to see summer showers on the radar for most late afternoons. Be sure to pack that rain gear. Temperatures in the valley below may be reaching the 90s but here at 6593 feet we are staying nice and cool. Yesterday’s high came in at 69 degrees. Overnight low only dropped to 51 degrees.
