The sunny streak continues, and so does the soupy haze. Waking up to partly cloudy conditions across the mountains, but it should be a mostly sunny Friday. There is an ever-so-slight chance of a rain shower later this evening, but nothing worth shaking a stick at. We managed to tap 70° again yesterday, and there’s a possibility we do so again the next couple days. Our lows continue to be in the mid 50s. As we march through the weekend and beyond, the rain and storm chances seem to increase little by little. That should hopefully help to cleanse the air and rid us of some of the lingering haze. Have the rain gear handy because some pop-up showers can spawn without warning. The annual summer bloom around the lodge is running about a week later than usual this year, which has pretty much been par for the course all over the Smokies since the spring. By next weekend there should be a lot more yellow glowing around camp.
