We are enjoying this busy, cool day up top with temps currently at 63 degrees. While we had a busy 4th, a majority of day hikers seem to be taking advantage of the weekend after the holiday. Yesterday, we reached a high of 70 degrees with overnight temps hitting 55 degrees. Perfect weather for a hoodie and shorts. An additional .62 inches of rain brings our total for the year to 57.41 inches. With the expectation of rain today, we are all running around with rain jackets in anticipation. While it hasn't hit us yet, we can see the dark rain clouds in the distance. While we are in the 60s here, it'll be in the 80s to 90s below. Please remember to bring plenty of water for yourself! Over the next couple of days, we suggest waterproof layers to protect you from the rain as well as water to stay hydrated!
WANTED!!! Earl the squirrel... While we laugh at this poster (handmade by our wonderful Heather), squirrels have become a nuisance on Mount LeConte. Stealing wallets, phones and food alike. When in the park and on LeConte please do not feed the wildlife including the squirrels. Thanks!!!
