A little cooler to start this morning in the waning days of spring. Watching the sunrise to mostly clear skies with temps in the mid 40s. Even with abundant sunshine on tap for today, it’s supposed to remain cool as we might barely scrape 60°. Winds should remain calm, but present enough that adding an extra layer might help for warmth. Starting tomorrow our temps should slowly slide back up to more seasonal norms, with continued sunshine until the weekend. Come Saturday the chance for those typical afternoon thunderstorms returns. The Catawba Rhododendron are creeping up the mountain side and will be putting on a show for a few more weeks yet. The Mountain Laurel are out in force in the middle elevations. Even though the grounds around the lodge are greening up, we’re still about a month away from witnessing our grand display of summer colors.
