Shaping up to be a pretty decent weekend on the mountain. The forecast continues to improve as it relates to reduced rain chances, with only a slight possibility late tonight and then again Sunday afternoon. There will be considerably more clouds this weekend than we’ve seen in recent days, but even the lack of sunshine won’t affect the heat wave lambasting the South. If you are in need of reprieve, it might help to know that our morning temp is in the lower 50s, and we’ll only be getting into the upper 60s this afternoon. Winds will be calm during the day but are expected to increase slightly overnight, gusting as much as 20mph. It doesn’t appear as though Tropical Storm Claudette poses much of a threat for our region as it churns up and out of the Gulf over the coming days.
