It's mild and misty on the mountain.
Happy Weekend,
After a gorgeous afternoon on the mountain yesterday, we've been riddled with intermittent showers.  Some have been downpours while others are light mists.  The bulk of Friday's 0.9" of rainfall came in a rush during the night. We'll see how much we report tomorrow in what should hopefully be the culmination of this tropical system. Sunday certainly looks to be more promising in the way of sunny and dry conditions. Yesterday's high temperature turned out to be 64 degrees, with a low of 53.  It is currently 56, cloudy and rainy, but the winds have finally scaled back.  It was getting pretty raucous at times, especially if the rain was coming in at every angle along with it.
Enjoy your weekend, and if you're visiting the region for the July 4th holiday, be sure and include a trip to Mt. LeConte in your plans.  Take care!

Rob ert,

I'd highly suggest you go for it! I'm considerably past your 60 years and day hiked it couple Mondays back. Check out the improvements on Alum...they've eliminated many of the hazards you saw back when you went. I refilled my water bottle at the Lodge and it was still cold when I got back to the car! Great day:)

Robert, keep up with the blog, especially toward the end of September. Watch for the dates they open up the lottery for reservations and call, cal, call.....and don't stop calling. You have a better chance to get through and get that date! It took me either until the afternoon of the first day, or it could have been the second day before I got through and was able to get my October dates.
